Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its affordable price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only issue it has is that it tends to hit objects and walls at a high speed, but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its course in a way that is automatic and clean around them, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. automated vacuum can configure and manage these via the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
Another notable characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture with a low profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush also automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice feature that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by excessive back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is easy to use and understand, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with a lot of additional features that distinguish it from. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and soiled spots.
The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. automated vacuum could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are numerous features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
